Bible: Version
Most online Bibles are based on versions from before 1920, while later translations of the Bible are rare - and usually overloaded with advertising, so that it is nearly impossible to work without interruption.
The reason is that later translations of the Bible are copyrighted and it is illegal to distribute or publish them freely. The Bible societies and publishing companies responsible for the current translations obviously want to sell Bibles, and advertising also provides them with some extra income.
I have chosen a version of the "Bible in Basic English", which may be used freely for non-commercial purposes.
